Scott Chierepko – Founder, Safe Harbor Leadership
"Navigating Leadership, Mastering the Storm"
A native of Newburyport, Massachusetts, Scott Chierepko is a seasoned leader with a proven track record of forging elite teams, driving business success, and thriving in the most demanding environments. As a retired Navy SEAL officer with 23 years of service, Scott led specialized teams across the globe, operating in high-risk and resource-constrained conditions where teamwork, adaptability, and decisive leadership meant the difference between success and failure. Rising from enlisted ranks to an executive officer role, he commanded and directed hundreds of personnel, managed millions in assets, and shaped future leaders in both military and business settings.
Scott’s leadership expertise extends beyond the battlefield. He holds a Master’s Degree in Defense Analysis from Naval Postgraduate School, equipping him with advanced strategic thinking and operational planning skills. After transitioning from active duty, he built a multi-million-dollar defense contracting company from the ground up, securing major government contracts and demonstrating the ability to lead in complex business environments. His business acumen, combined with his deep operational experience, makes him uniquely qualified to coach leaders in high-stakes decision-making, resilience, and team development.
Beyond the boardroom, Scott is a lifelong adventurer and athlete, having summited Mount Kilimanjaro at 18 years old, kayaked 210 miles in snow and ice for charity, and earned his U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain’s License. His passion for pushing limits extends to his work with corporate teams—guiding them through immersive, experiential leadership training in the outdoors, where challenges forge stronger, more cohesive leaders.
Through SafeHarbor Leadership, Scott delivers leadership coaching that is raw, real, and rooted in experience. His programs strip away distractions and place leaders in dynamic, unpredictable environments where communication, adaptability, and trust are tested and strengthened. Whether leading teams through the wilderness or navigating corporate challenges, Scott’s mission is clear: help leaders master the storm—because true leadership isn’t about comfort, it’s about thriving in adversity.
